I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and had a nice and relaxing experience. I tried some of the bar snacks and they came highly recommended.
Been to the exchequer today and my husband ordered 2 bacon chicken burgers (which we always get) just before I started the burger I noticed it was a beef burger but when I went to the bar the short dark haired woman behind the bar was so rude and dismissive and said that's what was ordered but I no it wasn't as I don't eat beef burgers only chicken, really disappointed withe the service today so don't think we will be back.
The food was very poor considering the price. I ordered Lasagne, which was dreadful. I am sure that the dish was either a frozen Lasagne heated up in an oven, or at the least it had been heated in a microwave. The dish was served with half a plate of salad and 2 hard bits of garlic bread. The Lasagne was small and about 10mm thick. The worst that I have ever had.
We had an amazing night with live music, appetizers, and great beer! The prices were good, the staff was fun, and overall it was a fantastic evening.
I love this dog friendly pub. Anytime I'm in or near Kirkcaldy, I make a beeline to the Exchequer. Their food is really good gives good value for money, the service is second to none everyone is very friendly helpful.
