Wonderful university cafe run by the students' union. Too bad some customers forget this and think they are in a posh tea room at a nearby golf course.

The breakfast was over cooked oily and slapped on the plate

Rector's was the very first place I visited in St Andrews, so it's quite nostalgic for me. It is a fab coffee place with a unique vibe, perfect for studying or chillin out with friends. They have quite a large selection of hot drinks, and lots of sweet baked goods as well. You can get some food (mostly sandwiches/wraps) too. I love their vegan options you can get your coffee with oat milk, or get a vegan muffin or a sandwich. Can recommend to both students and visitors!

I will always remember this place as the student union cafe, but now it offers a variety of delicious vegan options that far surpass the simple baked potato with beans that I used to enjoy during my student days. Things have definitely improved since then, as I am now vegan myself. This cafe has transformed into a modern establishment with a menu catered to the preferences of the current generation.
