We had a delightful dinner for two at a pub located just down the road from our holiday cottage on our first night. One of us ordered a chicken burger, while the other had a halloumi burger, along with a pint of cider and a pint of Deuchers. The small pub serves food until 7.30 pm, and we were fortunate to secure the last available table. The staff were lovely and provided excellent service. View all feedback.
What 217phyllisa doesn't like about Ceres Inn:
Visited here on Friday the 15th of October. Friendly enough owner and barman. We had our 2 golden retrievers with us as it is suppose to be a dog friendly pub. Unfortunately did not find this To be the case. Owner just kept Saying some people don't like dogs When eating. Well don't come to a Supposedly dog friendly pub. It Either is or it is not. We checked Before we stayed in ceres. Very Disappointing as only pub th... View all feedback.
We went to Ceres Inn for an evening meal. Food was good even with the limited menu. But the attitude of the lady behind the bar who was also the waitress was rude and it was as if she didn't want to be there or have us there. So we had had food and left never to return.
Limited menu but more than willing to provide variants from it to suit a vegetarian that like vegetables rather than macaroni! Excellent fish and chips.
We were looking for lunch in Ceres, and my husband walked into this pub, to be followed in by a very cross man who told him that they weren't open. Later, on looking at the opening times (in small print) outside, we could see that they don't open until 4pm on Friday. So why didn't the chap have the courtesy to say so? We wouldn't go in now even when they're open! By the way, we had a very enjoyable lunch at the friendly Folk Museum...
On such a horrible day it was a joy to step inside this small inn. We had tomato, chilli and coconut soup with a panini, side salad, crisps and homemade coleslaw all for under £9. Service was excellent from a very cheerful, polite girl. Will definitely return. Next time we will make sure we bring cash for a tip for the waitress!!!Thanks again.
We stayed in Ceres for a week and the Ceres Inn was the first stop off on the evening we arrived in the village. The pub was dog-friendly which is always helpful for us as we have two bassets. The welcome was warm on the Friday evening we went in. It is a small pub although it does have a largish pub garden adjacent to the building. The pub is currently only providing food on two days a week (Friday and Saturday), although the bar person did suggest they would be doing more days and we go into summer. The menu was limited but the quality of the food good.We only used the pub that one evening, not because there was anything wrong with it, only the lack of availability for food in the evening which would have been useful after days out on the road.
