As vegetarians living in France it was a joy t... read more We have been to En Catimini many times since discovering it by chance last year and have never been disappointed. As vegetarians living in France it was a joy to find a restaurant that not only served vegetarian food, but produced interesting, tasty, beautifully presented vegetarian French food. They use fresh, local, seasonal produce. Each time we visit we encounter different dishes; always superb. It is excellent for carnivores too (with whom we normally dine! with a variety of interesting meat, but also fish, dishes. On the menu it is indicate that other dietary needs can be accomodated. A small but manageable menu. The setting is calm both inside and out. Outside the tables are in a quiet garden full of plants and inside is more elegant. The staff are delightful: helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. and speak both French and English. The wine menu (book! is a bit overwhelming but interesting and staff are eager to advise. We are always eager to take friends there! Friends and family that we take there also really enjoy the architecture and decorations. A hidden gem!

The patron has great knowledge of the wines from the region and Hermionie speaks exceptional English. The whole experience is one not to be missed. In summer ones eats in the lovely garden and during inclement days one eats in the beautiful Chinese dining room. This small village are very lucky to have such a prestigious restaurant in their midst.

They need to concentrate on simple dishes instead of overly complicated food. Promised more than they could deliver, luckily we cut our losses after the starter or the bill would have been a Punch in the stomach worse than the food. We went to a McDonalds straight after. Happily the food was more filling and satisfying than the food that we got here.
