This was our first visit to this restaurant. Brandon C. provided excellent service, exceeding our expectations to ensure we had a delightful dining experience. He was very friendly and professional. What Darrell Glover doesn't like about Captain Jack’s Smokehouse:
The smoked chicken at this restaurant was the driest I've ever had. All of our food was overcooked, dry, and lacking in flavor. It had the texture of chicken jerky. We had to soak the chicken in water, season it, and then reheat it in the microwave just to be able to chew it. If we hadn't paid so much for it, we would have thrown it away. Captain jack’s smokehouse was a pleasure to dine on the beach with my 6-year-old son after a long day. we sat immediately and the opposite was spacious. my son ordered a cheeseburger with mac and cheese and chicken benches with fries, and as a picky as he is, he loved everything! I ordered the pulled pork on a brioche back with smoked mac and cheese and Bbq frits. I loved everything! the Bbq riders and pork were my favorites, with some of the sweet captain jack Bbq sauce cut off. also our server, lacey, was very personal and almost with everything! we come back definitiw.
Yummy BBQ Kansas City style. Not to pricey with a great indoor and outdoor view.
Waited 45 minutes for our food. There was only about 7 other tables that were being occupied. Even to get a drink, I went to bar to get it myself. Even so there was no one there. So I waited a bit.
The meal portions were huge. I got the steak loaded baked potato collard greens. Didn't care for the greens there was more stems then greens. My granddaughter got the Mac cheese (which she loves she's 3) you could tell it was simple Kraft but they gave it a fancy name to throw us off. My daughter got the shrimp,baked potato beans she loved everything.
I don’t like writing negative reviews, but I was very disappointed with this place. We waited 15 minutes, after being seated, and had to go find a server. Small portions and high prices.
