Very welcoming pub, always looking to improve customer requirements with a strong community feel, but always welcoming to newcomers. They have a very good charity record as management, staff and customers always pull together for good causes. Usually comes top in British Legion Poppy Appeal...for the whole area, and proudly undertakes the upkeep of the village War Memorial. View all feedback.
What Joe M doesn't like about The Vine:
Decided to try the Sunday roast. The waitress was friendly enough but the food was a big disappointment. Pretty much all of the beef was tough gristle and inedible. Yes I know I should have complained at the time, especially when the bill came to £15 just for one meal and no extras! But I got a feeling that it was the kind of place that might take umbrage at complaints and bring you back some tampered with replacemen... View all feedback.
I regularly have a Sunday roast withdrawal from here and it is always top notch. I tried only fish and chips this evening and was not disappointed! well worth a visit, but best preorder to avoid that it is missing
Lovely neighborhood pub with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.
If you want good pub grub then The food in this place is better than anywhere in the local area! A month ago my wife and I decided to try the food after the pub changing hands. We had the burgers and the dirty fries we have been residents of Coates village for 30 years and both grew up in Whittlesey. What you get here is the only thing within 40 miles that would rival anything decent burger and fries from London (I mean, American style)! I’ve severed some hi end establishments over my time with meat as I was a butchery manager that worked for jimmy Doherty (Jamie Oliver’s mate) for a number of years and I’m ecstatic that I have this 200m up the road! The service was spot too!! Hats off too chef at the vine!! This guy know what he is doing

It 's perfectly obvious when carving meat what the quality is like and totally unacceptable to serve beef which is that bad. That 's seriously uncool service. Hopefully the pub will take heed of these comments and up their game.
