Had eaten here several times and always had an excellent meal, but our last visit was 3 years ago. When reading some of the reviews, we asked ourselves whether we should miss this holiday. If we don't worry, we received a warm welcome from our sister and brother's owners and everything was as good as our previous visits. Don't let some comments put you down.
Receptionist at hotel put me off this restaurant, but tried it for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. A super shellfood starter (whelks with mayonnaise, large prawns and amandes de mere (a small round shellfish like an oyster) with shallot vinaigrette) and fish of the day nicely...cooked. With beer and coffee €19. When I went to an upmarket restaurant in the evening there was nothing on the limited menu that I liked, so came back here. A kir, a delicious 3 course meal, wine and coffee €41.
Its been a few years since we went back to this harbour side restaurant and I have to say that we were a little unsure having read some of the latest reviews. We shouldn't have worried as we received a very warm welcome back, excellent...service and super fresh fruits de mer for Sunday lunch. In a town where there is so much competition you don't survive as long as this team have without being consistently good. We will be back again soon.
Arrived in Fecampe in the dark to find our air bnb locked up tight and nobody anwering the door. Only able to use the phone with wifi, we were stuck. We sought help at this lovely restaurant where despite the fact that nobody spoke English...and our French was limited, the manager persisted until we had established our plight, and helped us to contazct our host and gain entry to our accomodation. We had a glass of wine while we waited ..a very nice house white. The food being served to customers looked amazing, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. They even have accomodation upstairs. If you are in Fecampe and looking for a seafood dinner, give these guys a go.
After a warm welcome, service deteriorated. We were seated below what sounded like children playing football, and it was very noisy for most of the evening. The waitress was surly, expected us to pass her plates, and banged our food down in front of us....Cheese was served with stale, rock hard bread, and we were pleased to leave at the end of the meal.
