4 of us were seated around 830. We had 3 steaks, 1 app, and 1 extra side. Each had an alcoholic beverage. Nothing we had was special. Middle of the road at best. For $200 before tip, i expected better. Service was good. They were attentive andfriendly.

I've heard so much about this legendary restaurant, and I finally had the chance to bring my family. The service was excellent, and the building had a lovely charm, but the... View all feedback.
This is a hole in the wall place which is AWESOME! As you can see in the pics, they ate most of it before I could get good pics! The only thing is, bring CASH! The service charge is not something you want added to your bill. Other than that theplace is awesome!!

The garlic chicken was quite disappointing. It was slathered in a thick, bland, oily sauce that lacked flavor. My husband and son enjoyed their steaks, but honestly, for the price we paid, we could have easily made the same meals at home. Additionally, the mac and cheese tasted like something you’d buy at the store and microwave for a minute. It was decent, but certainly not worth the cost. I get the feeling this place stays open mostly due to nostalgia. I would not recommend it.
I went out for dinner and started with ribs and garlic shrimp as an appetizer. Then, my jaw dropped when the 16 oz. ribeye arrived, accompanied by grilled onions and peppers, along with a bowl of mac and cheese. The steak was beautifully presented, sitting in a pool of the most delicious beef juice that elevated every bite to pure bliss. If I'm craving an outstanding ribeye, this is definitely my go-to spot.
Herman's was closed during our visit, but a mutual friend of the owner, Nick, kindly arranged for us to take a look inside. The building is steeped in history. The restaurant was established by Herman Tuck, the first drummer for Ronnie Hawkins’ Hawks. The walls are adorned with memorabilia from the numerous performers, celebrities, and politicians who have visited (ugh). It is said to serve the best ribs in town. We definitely need to return when it's open to see for ourselves!
