My first visit to a Flunch, I was visiting from Australia and it was extremely busy with locals, grab a tray, glass and cutlery and select any cold foods, salads, cheeses, breads and desserts, there were a lot to chose from and you pay for your selection before entering the seating area, if you want hot food you advise the attendant whilst paying for the cold selection then pick it up in the other side.
We need one of these at home. The selection is huge. You order at the till, find a seat and then go and collect your food. I had a steak, cooked to perfection, and as many visits to the chips/salad/vegetable stand as many times as I liked. Four of us ate here, all had something different and enjoyed it immensely
Well I have done another Flunch in Saint Quentin. As usual the hot meal with vegetables a volonte. But as usual most of the vegetables were terrible; just over cooked. However the mashed potatoes were great. I do not know why I never go for the other food on offer which looks much more appetising. The photos are from the Flunch in Calais near the Tunnel; but all the food is pretty much the same. The photos seem to have loaded upside down. I do not know why.
Enjoyed the salad and cake here. Food looks really nice and lots of cakes to choose from. This place is in the big Auchan supermarket. There are sandwiches, cakes, salads and it all looks good. It is walking distance from the nearby hotels.
