Was Anonym at Ghalji a mag?

Great food choices, although the rising prices over the past year are a bit alarming. The service staff appears to be new, but they're doing a fantastic job.

What Adi M dislikes about Ghalji:

We arrived at 6:55 PM and placed our order by 7:05 PM. After waiting until 8:10 PM without receiving our food, we decided to leave. We informed the staff that we wanted to cancel our order, and they just replied with a simple "OK," without any further assistance. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. There is no table service; they don’t provide menus, and no one comes to take your order or offer water and drinks.... View all feedback.

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely poor, and I would rate the food a 1 out of 5. I do not recommend it at all.

Food was GREAT but I had to take out an star for the service.I believe it’s due to a lack of waiters and kitchen staff, but we had to walk around looking for them and following up on the order.

Best place for authentic Pakistani food. Great customer service

I had to wait over an hour to be served. Customer service deserves zero stars. Food: 3/5, Service: 1/5, Atmosphere: 1/5. Not great overall.

Tucked away in the heart of the city, this restaurant offers a vibrant tribute to Indo-Pakistani cuisine. Upon entering, you are enveloped by the enticing aroma of spices and herbs, hinting at an authentic culinary adventure. The decor, featuring traditional Pakistani artwork, creates a welcoming atmosphere for the delightful feast that lies ahead. The menu is a wonderful representation of the rich culinary heritage of the region. The Chicken Biryani is a highlight—this dish is a harmonious blend of flavors, with each grain of rice perfectly infused with aromatic spices and tender pieces of chicken. It truly embodies the essence of Pakistan. Another standout dish is the Nihari, a slow-cooked beef stew that exemplifies culinary patience and expertise. Its silky gravy and melt-in-your-mouth meat offer a comforting experience, especially when paired with freshly baked Naan. If grilled delights are more your style, the Seekh Kebabs will not disappoint. These juicy skewers of minced meat, expertly seasoned with a unique blend of spices, are grilled to perfection, providing a delicious smoky flavor. And for a sweet finish, the Gulab Jamun is simply heavenly. These soft, spongy treats soaked in syrup make for the perfect conclusion to an exquisite meal. In summary, this restaurant goes beyond just serving food; it provides a rich tapestry of stories, culture, and tradition on a plate, leaving a lasting impression of Indian and Pakistani flavors long after you've finished your meal. **Service:** Dine-in **Meal Type:** Lunch **Price per Person:** A$1–20 **Food Rating:** 5 **Service Rating:** 3 **Atmosphere Rating:** 3 **Recommended Dish:** Paratha

Brilliant Service. It’s 3:40 am. They were just closed on über eats. I was hungry as hell, I just texted them through google. They actually replied me and allowed me to order through Uber. Being a chef, I can understand the frustration of last order but I would like to appreciate chef’s efforts to prepare my food at 4:00 am, Service staff for communication and service. Thank you for feeding me this time. Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$20–40 Food: 5 Service: 5

However, I couldn’t help but notice that the girl at the counter seemed a bit indifferent or even upset. I thought about cracking a few jokes to lighten her mood, but I wondered if it might have been something I did. Regardless, I’m sure I just caught her at a bad time—everyone has those moments. Overall, this is a fantastic place for no-frills, hearty, and authentic Pakistani food. I highly recommend it!

Great spot for Pakistani and Indian cuisine, especially their curry and naan. However, the staff can be a bit inattentive at times. I really love their chicken tikka and qeema naan!

The Middle Eastern food here is fantastic! The tea, in particular, is the best I've ever had. I really enjoyed the lamb mince pizza. I would definitely return in the future for more great food!

As they say Simple is beautiful... this certainly holds true for this place.. It's a gem among all the possible options.. Why because Melbourne is now flooded with Pakistani restaurants that offer a modern contemporary take on our cuisine via a blend of urban setting, decent customer service and good food... <br/ <br/ What makes Ghalji so different is their intent on presenting normal simple traditional food you would find on a roadside Pakistani restaurant and presenting it wiithout any bells and whistles... While the service was polite and acceptable and the setting quite simple but eventually it's all about the food and you've to taste to believe me.. The Roghni, Keema Naan, Chana Daal are absolutely sensational... no where in Melbourne will you find such range of Roti and Naan like you would here.. From Roghni to Peshawari Roti, Kabuli Naan, Keema, Aaloo Naan.. <br/ <br/ No wonder people like we did )were taking dozens of Rotis and Naan's as take away.. In short, Try this place if you are after authentic but delicious Pakistani food with a touch of simplicity that comes straight from the heart.

There is no table service; they don’t provide menus, and no one comes to take your order or offer water and drinks. This is definitely not a family-friendly environment, as there were no high chairs available for children, and the constant stares from other patrons made my wife feel very uncomfortable. I would recommend avoiding this place if possible.

Who on earth charges $60 for lamb karahi? It's incredibly overpriced, and there wasn't much meat in it—just a lot of tomato sauce and a few pieces of bone. I'm really disappointed with both the price and the quantity of lamb in the dish.

The food they serve is rarely disappointing, which is a good sign. I do wish they offered a better dining experience, but I suppose you can't have it all. I would choose the excellent food any day over a fancy setting.

Had lunch here today, a beautiful lamb shank pulau. Tender, fell right off the bone, with a beautiful sauce and the rice was a good compliment. Service was quick and friendly, the restaurant simple but clean. Will come again to try some other dishes that look good on the menu. If you're in the area, drop in.
