I love it when I go to a restaurant and expect little and then get blown away by the food and service. The Balti Room coral mar square take a bow!
9.95 early bird menu 6-8 everyday it's amazing value and excellent food, I had the balti just right strength for me, we had 2 drinks each and for 4 adults 64 euros would highly recommend also run by nice English girl
Situated on the ground floor of the small Coral Mar complex in Costa Silencio, this is a small, friendly Indian balti house serving the usual dishes that would be familiar to all Brits. When we visited (early November 2012) it had a 3-course ‘early bird’ meal offer for €9.95 (poppadum and pickles, choice of starter and main, served with rice). The starter and main portions were generous. There were 3 of us and we were advised by the waitress to swap one of the rice for a naan bread and this was more than sufficient for us. In terms of the food itself, one word of note, when it came to spice rating of dishes you might not get what you would expect from your local curry house – balti was very mild, and even the dhansak, described as ‘hot’ on the menu didn’t have much hotness in way of spice. However, the food was nice and we enjoyed it, and if you are eating on a Friday evening you may even be lucky to see some live entertainment outside. Would definitely recommend the early bird menu (served before 8pm), as ordering off the menu normally would work out significantly more expensive. Drinks reasonably priced too.
