Great service on 2 occasions for lunch. Tried the rice with octopus and the rice with monkfish. They do insist on offering you the couvert the Portuguese 'amuse bouche ' of cheese, olives etc. which we declined. Overall, a very good spot for lunch, clean and efficient and they do seem to care about what they are doing. Also, seemed to be frequented by lots of locals, so always a good sign. View all feedback.
Visited this canteen for lunch as we stumbled across it by accident. Person serving was really friendly and explained the dishes they had in was chicken in cream, pork with rice and boiled stingray. She joked and said it was like school as we had to grab a tray each for self service :D We got a chicken dish as well as the stingray. The chicken came with chips and rice, and we could choose a veg side dish so we got diced carrot, onions peas. The stingray came with boiled potatoes, carrot and broccoli. Portions were very generous and the plates were piled high. The chicken was a mix of breast and thigh meat was really tender fall off the bone. Stingray was really interesting and cooked well. Felt like a really healthy dish. Only issue is as the food is pre cooked, it's kinda lukewarm. Had spotted the rissoles and sadly they didn't have any bacalhau fritters but we got a meat one and a shrimp one. They were not warmed up so were a bit cold but were fairly tasty. With two drinks, everything came up to a little more than €15 which was really good value definitely filled us up! The place was pretty busy when we visited and seemed popular with the locals. It reminded us of the lokantas in Turkey! Went to the toilet got really tickled by the images used to differentiate the gents from the ladies lol a sense of humour is always welcome : Definitely worth a visit for the kind friendly service and tasty food in generous portions which won't break the bank!

I came here to have lunch as recommendation from the owner of my guest house. And how happy I am I did check it out! I came back everyday for breakfast and lunch. Prices are incredible! Place opens as early as 7am, and offers coffee for €0.5. Also a variety of sandwiches and sweeter treats, too. For lunch soup of the day is only €1.10 and homemade. Actually, all food is homemade as I believe it is family run business. The lady behind the bar/till was so lovely, I had a chat with her everytime and she was the most warm person. Come here if you like to eat for less and enjoy good food. Always fresh! I felt like eating at grandma's at home in here. You will see a lot of locals eat here, so that must mean something! : Superb! Highly recommend!!!!
Big variety of dishes and salads highly pleasant to the taste. The stuff are very sympathetic and the service is very fast. I go there almost every day <3
Simpatia todos os dias e comida da melhor. E por preços extraordinários. Obrigado por nos mimarem todos os dias!
