The secon... read more Went twice in the same day to this restaurant. The first time for coffees and what were agreed to be the winner of the custard tart of the week award. The second time for lunch following a breathtaking walk along the unspoilt beach about a mile away. It 's the sort of place that you 'd expect to have been Rick Stein-ed, so good is the fish. All simply cooked and presented with no fuss. They even sold us two more litres of house wine to take back to the boat after we discovered the local shop had shut. Please note that this review and others on this page relate to Restaurante Rui on the Ilha da Culatra, about 4 miles to the south of Olhao. The location map is incorrect. If you walked to the restaurant without getting your feet wet, you 're in the wrong one!

Fabulous, friendly restaurant with the best fish and waitress . We could have stayed for dinner but only had lunch as our ferry was leaving ! At busy times (Summer, lunch time) you may have to wait a bit, but the food is freshly cooked and delicious. We were never disappointed. Tip if you are going to the beach before lunch, reserve a table before you go.
