While the atmosphere buzzes with energy, especially during peak hours with families, service can falter when understaffed, leading to delays in attention and overcooked meals. However, many patrons rave about the well-prepared dishes and the well-executed classic menu that caters to diverse tastes, making it an ideal spot for special occasions. Diners emphasize the importance of booking ahead to secure a table and fully enjoy a meal, complemented by tempting desserts. Overall, it remains a popular local choice worth revisiting.
A beautiful eggs benidick bteak8very good value. Very delicious and beautiful and fresh. Very relaxing and good service
First visit here and me and my husband, where not disappointed. Small, classic menu that means they are able to perfect any dish. The place is beautiful, environment and although at the night we visited, they were short employees due to illness could not help them enough. Check Groupon before the visit!
Thought that we would give the restaurant a try, our sat nave took us down the wrong road but if you follow Packhouse Antiques it is the same location. We went for an early evening meal, the menu is not vast but what was on the menu was well presented and cooked to perfection. The Chocolate Fudge cake warmed with Ice Cream finished the meal and a nice evening.
The staff at Bears are very welcoming and will always try and find you a table, but they are very popular and I would strongly advise booking in advance. Open Table took a late booking for lunch the next day and all worked smoothly. There is a real variety of food to choose from, from the modern avocado and sourdough toast to chicken livers. Something for everyone. Our group had the buttermilk chicken burger and the couscous halloumi salad. All came with lovely salad garnish, properly vibrant and fresh. We were there for well over 2 hours for a birthday lunch and at no point did we feel rushed. I’m going back in a few weeks for another birthday lunch. But do book first.
My girlfriend and I had dinner at the Packhouse. The restaurant was busy but not noisy, and we were welcomed warmly by the manager. We ordered calamari and bubble and squeak for starters, and sea bass and steak and ale pie for mains. There was roughly a 40 minute delay for the mains but the manager was very apologetic and gave us fudge cake and a round of drinks for free, which more than compensated for the wait. Recommended!
