Many diners expressed disappointment with the steaks, citing issues such as low quality, lack of seasoning, and overcooking, diminishing their culinary expectations. While some praised the tender and delicious steaks, others faced slow service, especially with larger groups. Concerns were also raised about unexpected service charges, which detracted from the experience. Despite a few positive encounters, the restaurant appears to struggle with maintaining a high standard, leaving many customers feeling dissatisfied and hesitant to return.
Very slow and disappointing experience. We were a large group (16) so anticipated that this wouldn’t be a quick meal, but given that there was only one other table in the restaurant, we were frustrated and disappointed in how long our starters took to come out and that they didn’t all come out together. When the mains came out, three of us had to wait a while for our sides. Food was nice but Rancho’s seem to be prioritising orders for delivery over the satisfaction of customers actually in the restaurant which is shame.
Sorry gone down hill. Empty. Small steak. Over cooked chicken. Steak not seasoned. Flavourless ribs Non English speaking waiter. Food entry level. Slow service top price paid for basic cheap food. We won’t be back. Get your self sorted. Happy Christmas
We celebrated a birthday at this restaurant and found the food to be good, but we were surprised when a service charge was added to the bill. When we inquired about this with the wait staff, we were informed that the management kept all the service charges and any tips left on the table were also taken by management.
After frequenting Renchos as our preferred steak restaurant 10 years ago, we chose to dine here for our anniversary as a family. It was a bit surprising. There were only 2 waiters in the restaurant and they were slow to bring us drinks. It took some time for us to confirm that they accepted our meerkat meals discount. Their proficiency in English seemed lacking, but they were able to manage. The food was satisfactory, but the portion sizes were not as generous as they used to be. Overall, our experience was okay, but it didn't quite meet the standards we remembered from before.
I made a last-minute reservation for a Saturday in August at this restaurant. I had never been here before so I was a bit hesitant. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how tender and perfectly cooked the steak was. The sauce was delicious, and the staff was prompt and polite. Overall, a great dining experience. My only suggestion would be to consider stocking alcohol-free lager for non-drinkers.
