Diners praise the tender meats, flavorful sauces, and traditional favorites like couscous and bastilla. The attentive service, notably from staff member Kamal, enhances the dining experience, making patrons feel like family. While some feedback suggests minor improvements in saltiness and salad dressings, the overwhelming consensus celebrates the high-quality, fresh food and the warm, inviting ambiance set to uplifting Moroccan music. Overall, Mount Olive is highly recommended for those craving genuine Moroccan flavors.
The best Moroccan restaurant in VA the food are amazing and the service is very good as well
I typically do not write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts in hopes that the owners or managers will address the issues and make improvements. Firstly, the restaurant needs to enhance its table setup, cleanliness, and customer service. Secondly, the food did not resemble authentic Moroccan cuisine: the couscous was overcooked, the chicken with onions and olives was off-putting, and I was shocked to be charged $20.00 for a small pot of mint tea. It was not worth the price. If you are going to run a Moroccan restaurant, please strive to adhere to the highest standards of Moroccan cuisine. I do not recommend this restaurant at this time. Immediate improvement is necessary.
I visit this restaurant every week after Friday prayer to enjoy delicious Moroccan cuisine. I have sampled various dishes on the menu and they are all cooked impeccably. Don't forget to also try the atay, a refreshing mint tea that is the perfect way to end your meal. The owners are very welcoming and friendly.
The Moroccan cuisine at this restaurant is incredibly delicious and authentic! I highly recommend trying the Herrera soup, as well as the cucumber and tomato salad and the carrot salad. The chicken tagine was perfectly cooked and very tender. The bread is not only delicious, but also moist, with a great flavor. The mint tea is wonderful as well. I can confirm that this is authentic Moroccan food and it is definitely worth trying multiple dishes. The atmosphere is beautiful, with uplifting Moroccan music playing. Make sure to visit soon!
Some of the best, most authentic Moroccan food I’ve had the pleasure of having. 10/10 would recommend. The chicken was cooked to fall-off-the-bone perfection, the tajin, couscous, salads, everything was beautifully seasoned, the harira took my wife back to her childhood. The owner and employees are lovely people, and we will definitely be back!
