Walking in, the restaurant looks exceptionally slovenly. There is no order, rhyme, or reason. It look slapped together in a haste without a twinge of care for appearance. It is not pleasant at all. There’s posters from 2022, if they can’t pay attention to that detail imagine what level of care is devoted to food handling and preparation. Moving on the menu doesn’t have prices on it and on the receipt items are listed as “custom item” and priced arbitrarily. I felt fleeced! In the end I payed $71 for 2 plates of food 2 drinks a bag of dinner rolls and some biscuits. I then tipped 20% even tho the staff was remarkably rude and quite disheveled. It was appalling. No “thank you” or any appreciation. in fact, it felt like I was inconveniencing them. The food was good but not enough to make up for the egregious experience. I Will not return and wouldn’t recommend. If you don’t care about looks, don’t mind bad service, and are okay with over paying then sure go for it. Otherwise go elsewhere.
Boyfriend got the fried snapper whole fish plate and I got the beef stew and rice. Ridiculously good! Absolutely worth every cent. The ladies behind the counter are very friendly and thankful for new customers. Will be back, probably once a week!
Amazing, authentic, taste of home! If you are looking for the best Haitian restaurant around, then you’ve found it. I’ve been here multiple times now and I have never been disappointed. They even provided plenty of Soup joumou to feed 20 people, on New Years Day! I can’t say enough about the food, the staff, and the environment. I get excited even when I’m waiting in the restaurant anticipating the phenomenal meal I’m going to have.
My boyfriend and I decided to try Sr Marie's per our goal of supporting more black owned restaurants for Black History Month. We were not disappointed! The food was plentiful and delicious. I tried the mushroom rice which was a delightful surprise, making it a perfect complement to the stewed goat meat that I ordered. We also had meat patties which were so savory and delicious. The portions were generous, providing us with enough leftovers for several meals incredible value for the price. Shoutout to the hard working women in the kitchen, their homemade Caribbean cooking was so satisfying and filling. The place was clean and cozy, despite being primarily a takeout joint. I'm deducting one star because I would have loved to see more seating options for dine in customers or more decor.
