This charming little restaurant is located in a scenic rural area near a beautiful river and lake. I visited in the evening and arrived close to closing time, but we were welcomed warmly and didn’t feel rushed at all. The food was impressive; I ordered the Chimichanga, and it was one of the best I've had in a long time. View all feedback.
This place is actually called Ortegas (it was formerly the site of La Cocinita). I feel bad giving this place only two stars, but the simple fact was that they forgot my lunch order. I went there with a group of co-workers while in the area on business and we all ordered, the place was not that busy and the service was prompt and friendly. My three coworkers received their orders, the person who delivered the food was not the same person who took our orders. She looked at me and was like, didn't you order anything. I told her what I had ordered and she said, I will go have it made immediately. So I sat there and watched everyone eat their lunch (which everyone enjoyed), and finally my order was delivered. The food was freshly and efficiently prepared but the fact remains that it was forgotten and yes, mistakes happen. But they did not do or say anything to make it up, which in my books in very bad customer service.
Ortega's is one of the finest Mexican restaurants you can find in the entire Northwest region of the US. The quality of the food is exceptional and truly authentic. The flavors are rich and take me back to Mexico. It's a fantastic family-run establishment that has remained true to its roots.

Actually called Ortegas, this was great food, with many ingredients bought locally (we saw them brought in while eating). Camerones a la Diablo were smokey and delicious. Their salsa was tasty too.
This restaurant in Fall River Mills truly offers fantastic Mexican food. Options in this small rural town are quite limited, but this spot hits the mark. They also have another location in Palo Cedro that I've been wanting to check out during my trips between here and Chico, CA.
