When I questioned her about this, her expression shifted from confusion to anger. She simply said, "I’ll have these out in a minute." Then, to my shock, I overheard her mutter, "Stupid, white mother f***er," as she walked away from the counter. Really? I couldn’t understand how a simple order could lead to comments about skin color. My wife had to restrain me from going into the store because I was furious. Instead of waiting for sandwiches that I was sure would come with added 'toppings' of attitude, I decided to leave. I’d rather go hungry than spend any money at that Subway. Unbelievable!
