Very nice casual place to eat. Outside dining has a great atmosphere. Has various types of food items on the menu, but hamburgers seem to be the main event with a variety of options. You can also choose from a selection of buns/bread. I had the pork burger, and my wife had the bison burger, and both were very good. The French fries are crispy and nice in size. The staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a rep... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Locals At The Alley:
Food is good, service is great, but if I wanted to dine with dogs, I would go to a dog kennel. It is getting where it is difficult to just dine with people. Dogs are wonderful, in their home, but not appropriate when I eat food. I won't be going back. Recommend this place only if you want to dine with a dog next to you. View all feedback.
Nestled in an alleyway off of Fairhope Ave., Locals really is a hidden gem. While there are tables available in the leafy alley, we opted to eat in the bar at the very end of the alley. Our bartender/server was an amiable middle-aged fellow (i.e., younger than us) sporting a modified Mohawk, great service. My wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger. The meat was of very high quality, tasty and juicy even cooked medium well. The bacon was thick and succulent. Her burger came with an order of fries that were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and well seasoned. I ordered cheesy shrimp and grits. Delicious. A generous serving of fresh shrimp in a bowl of hearty, cheesy grits with a very flavorful broth over all of it. Definitely will come here again if we return to Fairhope.
The food is the star of the show.Nothing matters but the food. And the food shines massive props to the chefs and servers.
We enjoyed lunch in the alley setting. It was private, yet felt like a community setting too, as people passed by. Our server was clearly busy, but spent time making recommendations and suggestions. We chose to create our own burgers and there were so many combination options. I had the vegetarian burger which was chickpea based and delicious. It was nice to have options for both of us. Vegetarians don’t always want to eat a salad!
This is a fantastic place to unwind and relax, featuring a great happy hour for drinks and appetizers!
My wife ordered the mushroom pasta, which was served in a generous portion and was hot and fresh. I opted for the burger with cheese and bacon, and the bacon was impressively thick and spot on. When they say a large order of fries, they truly mean it! They were thick-cut, which I typically don't prefer, but they were done perfectly here. We sat next to a local who couldn't help but rave about the food when she heard our order. It's always nice to hear a local praising a place called Locals. Overall, it was a fantastic meal!
