Char 32 - Fairhope
Char 32
Description
**Restaurant Review: Char 32**
Char 32 offers a blend of culinary highs and a few lows. Patrons rave about the duck and lamb appetizers, alongside the crab claw starter, while steaks are usually well-prepared, though occasionally overcooked. The cozy yet upscale atmosphere enhances the dining experience, but service inconsistencies were noted, attributed to newer staff. Although prices can lean high, many agree that while the food is good, it doesn't always justify the cost. Diners appreciate the professionalism of the wait staff and the restaurant's popularity suggests a solid reputation. Overall, Char 32 is worth a visit for steak lovers.

My friends took me to Char for a celebration. I always order filet but they suggested I try the rib-eye. Oh my! The best steak I?ve ever had ???? I can?t wait to return! The atmosphere is upscale and cozy.
It's a nice size for a restaurant these COVID days, and with pretty good service. The salmon I got was perfect on the inside, but burned outside. I know salmon is difficult to perfect, but for the price and expertise, let's not burn it. I had a side of mushrooms which were delicious!
Loved this place!! Food came out quick and tasted great!! Carol was a great waitress and Dalton was working his tail off. Even had a few minutes to chat with the owner, watch your leftovers! Will definitely be back soon.
Starting with the good, the duck and the lamb appetizers were top notch. The salad and the salad dressing was very good. Now for the so so. The lobster bisque is okay but not noteworthy. This was apparently the first night for the server that we had so theservice was spotty,. Not horrible but not what you would expect for a nice restaurant. No bread until we asked, never checkedback on the meal and never came back after leaving the check. Served me a Crown and Sprite with flat 7up or Sprite and when shecame back to see if I wanted another I was maybe 1/2 finished and said yes but I think . . . she interrupted with the 7up wasflat. I said yes and I thought but didn't say, if you knew it was flat why did you serve me a flat drink. Another waiter finallycame and handled the bill. Everyone has a first time so we still tipped 20%. For the not great, my husbands New York tastedreally strange and was not good. My rib eye was good flavor but over cooked, they are thin and maybe I should have ordered rareinstead of medium rare. Overall I would not go back, there are much better places in Fairhope and Daphne within the same pricerange.
Char is an amazing restaurant. BUT. get reservations early as they book up quickly..a sign of good food. The food is always perfectly cooked, and you couldn't ask for better, more professional, knowledgeable wait staff. Diners dress casually andcomfortable, but in good taste. High on our list..can even just show up at the bar fir an evening cocktail
