Ventura's Pizza - Fairfield
Ventura's Pizza
Description
At a family-owned restaurant in Gettysburg, diners find a mix of experiences. While the pizza garners rave reviews for its crispy crust and generous sauce, service inconsistencies plague the dining experience. Guests report slow staff response times and rude customer service during phone orders. Additionally, issues arise during trivia nights, with claims of cheating and lack of management action creating disappointment for regular patrons. Despite these concerns, many highlight the restaurant's excellent food and vibrant atmosphere, suggesting that takeout is the best way to enjoy meals. Prices are typically reasonable, making it a tempting option for local diners.

This place is good for food, but I would not recommend going for trivia night on Thursdays. My friends and I have been going every week since April, but recently we noticed some cheating going on. A table of young girls, around 14 years old, were continuously cheating by asking for answers at the bar. Despite us informing the trivia host, he did not take any action and even seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. The girls persisted in cheating multiple times, yet were still allowed to continue playing. To make matters worse, the host got angry at us when we raised concerns about the cheating, rather than addressing the issue with the cheaters. The girls even tied for third place, despite some of their answers being blatantly obtained through cheating. Additionally, the atmosphere during the audio questions was extremely loud, making it difficult to hear. The host made no effort to control the noise level or prevent people from using their phones during the game. In the end, if you are looking for a fair and honest trivia experience, this may not be the best place to go. If you don't mind people cheating and potentially having a higher score than your team, then you may still enjoy the night. We were disappointed as regular customers who spent a lot of money and tipped well. We attempted to reach out to the owner through their website, but received no response.
