Most people appeared to come for the buffet. There were multiple choices of meats, sides a salad bar. There were plastic gloves stationed near the buffet, however no one was using them. We chose to forgo the buffet ordered from the menu. I ordered a small plate of BBQ beef (sliced brisket) that came with two sides. The portion was huge. Very dissappointed. I have been going to Sam's for years. The prices are sky high and the food is substandard. Selection was not good, salad bar was substandard and the the desserts were just ok. It's not the Sam's from the 90's. We should have just walked away. : View all feedback.
Well who ever said Billboards don't work lied. We saw the Sams Restaurant billboards for miles coming home from Dallas to Houston. After the 3rd one we looked up the Restaurant and the reviews. All were good, then we looked as Sams history and we were hooked. We decided to stop and see what it was all about. The building is a very unassuming white building, when you pull up you are not sure what to expect. When we got inside the friendly smiling faces put is at ease and the delicious smells from the buffet. We saw on all the reviews that you have to get the bread and boy were they right. So good and Fluffy. The food was fresh and delicious, just a good old fashioned country cooking buffet. No frills, but lots of home-cooked food. I was adamant I was going to eat the pie, but by the time I got through tasting everything I was so full. I would definitely recommend it as a stop to or from Dallas.
I live out in California and always make a point to eat here. Food is always wonderful home cooking with courteous staff. If ever you need catering, Eden is very detailed and quick in responding with quotes. Their selection of options on their menu and delivery services are excellent and very accommodating to your event needs at a great price! Myself and my local Fairfield/Buffalo family highly recommend Sam's Original Restaurant!
The service is friendly and attentive. The food is never disappointing and don't forget the pie choices. Unfortunately there is no EV charger in Fairfield.

The buffet is a great down-home buffet. Start with a fresh salad with more than just lettuce and tomatoes. I liked the fresh pea salad. They had a broccoli salad, macaroni salad and potato salad too. The main entrees were barbecue sausage, fried chicken, pork cutlets,, fried shrimp, and more. They had fried okra, mashed potatoes, corn, and Mac and cheese. I didn't like the Mac and cheese. I thought it tasted too much off evaporated milk, but other people raved about it. To each his own. Sam's is known for pies, and they are included with the buffetI had the coconut merangue pie. It was wonderful.This isn't a Las Vegas buffet. It is the best of the Texas buffets you could want.
