This restaurant is good by Fairbanks standards. Old school Italian restaurant that would be dated elsewhere, but was a welcome option within walking distance from the Bear Lodge. Service was a little slow, as they were busy- but they were trying their best and acknowledged the wait time. View all feedback.
What Bernie Dare doesn't like about Geraldo's:
we entered at 6:30 it was busy and chaotic, 2 different hostess came to ask a name and one said 10 minutes the other one hour said? nonsense! it seemed no floor manager. there were 2 waitresses sitting on the bar and one with there still apron, while their little child climbed on chairs and sat on the bar. each person who came in was greeted by both hostesses but different things told! although it was labor day, the... Great local Italian restaurant. Tasty pastas, pizzas, and breads, with a large salad bar and good service. Well worth it for a nice night out.
Place was about 1/2 full when we arrived. We were seated immediately but then nothing for 15 minutes. Server came over and apologized saying there was a miscommunication. Drink and dinner order placed immediately. Drinks arrived 10-15 minutes later as were the French Onion soup sides. 1 hour and 5 minutes later after ZERO updates we were headed for the door and our server came out and advised our food was being plated as we spoke. We waited 5 more minutes and voila out comes our food if you want to call it that. No sorry, no words and no dialogue took place. Now for the food. Chicken Picata was horrible and rubbery. Manicotti was microwaved at least 2x and was tasteless. Cajun Alfredo with Chicken was floating in an oily liquid and not edible. Never in 50+ years have I had an experience like this. Eat ANYWHERE in Fairbanks before you give this place a dime of your money. Too bad I cannot give ZERO stars.
Dined here while staying over at the Bear Lodge hotel. This is one of the few options available within walking distance. Good menu and service was decent. Food was just ok. They have a salad bar but most of the lettuce was brown. Our entrees were good, but not great. They do get a good crowd here because of the hotel.

Great food. We did take it back to our resort due to our taxi being on the clock, but it was the best food the whole trip! Great small salad bar.
