the entrance to this place is through a unique old gold mine tunnel! Once they are in, they are welcomed by a buck of stands and a large dining room. the food was in fact very appetizing, we had a salmon and a cod basket. they also sold the most amazing sangria. perhaps sad part is that they are not ready for business all year round and are done for this season. What Mike C doesn't like about Alaska Salmon Bake:
I’ve heard folks raving about this place, so I was excited to give it a try. Came away very disappointed. The best item was the crab legs, worth every penny. The grilled Salmon was ok, slathered in way too much sauce. The fried halibut and cod were over breaded and completely unseasoned. Prime rib was dry and overcooked. Mac and cheese was very delicious, as were the roasted potatoes. Fried chicken nuggets and fries... View all feedback.
I was the one charged with looking at the reviews. After eating there, I don't know how anybody could say it was anything less than a 5 star event. We showed up at about 6. Tons of parking. Easy in. The weather was 75 and Sunny. We immediately went to the front of the line, because nobody was in line lol. We went through the buffet line and load it up our plates with as much as we wanted (Mac n cheese baked beans and potatoes), expecting that we were going to get about a small 6 oz piece of fish. WRONG! The wife and I decided to get the cod and we got three huge pieces and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The boy got salmon that was char grilled. A nice large piece and it was GREAT. A little bit too sweet of a glaze for the boy, but I loved it. We sat under the Spruce trees and feasted, drank beers and really enjoyed the event.

Employees were very polite and it was cool to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful day, but overall not worth the price.
A fairbank tradition. lachs was very good. very family-friendly. also a area and special menu, for them fur babys. home parking.
Halibut Did not taste like Halibut, halibut was a see-through color and not the white of cooked Halibut. Maybe old? Frozen too long? No taste. Mac and cheese wasnt fresh and had been sitting too long, potatoes burned and no flavor. Now the desert( not poctured had been sitting uncovered WAY WAY too long. Completely dried out! The premixed drink was ok, wine was cheap and tasted like it sat out and soured. My first time here, ive lived here 11 years and im completely disappointed in the lack of pride in their food. NOT worth the huge amount we spent on our family of 10 to treat them!!
The entrance to this restaurant is through a fascinating old gold mine tunnel! Once inside, guests are greeted by a variety of booths and a spacious dining area. The food was incredibly appetizing; we ordered a salmon dish and a basket of cod. They also offered the most delicious sangria. The only downside is that they aren't open year-round and have closed for the season.
