Was Slaven Č at Ca'murani a mag?
We had a really nice local food here, altough lasagna is really tiny. Huge minus is when we asked for local wine of a house, but we were served by expensive bottled chardonnay from Veneza Giulia. It was delicious tough, but the only conclusion to make is that Venezia Giulia has much better wines than Romagna, that's what Ca' Murani wants to show us. View all feedback.

What Ulla J dislikes about Ca'murani:
Sat in a beautiful courtyard on the most uncomfortable chairs and table. Hand written menu was difficult to read and no English translation available. Mix up in orders of beverages and got the starter at the same time as the main course. Was the waitress drunk? Food was okay, though. View all feedback.

Advertised as open until 11.30 and last orders at 10.30, we thought that 9.20 on a Monday evening would be fine. How wrong we were. Met by a fairly obviously worse for wear, “ tired and emotional “, woman in chef's whites smoking at the entrance who growled “chiuso” and on realising that we were English she added, “kitchen closed” dismissively. A passing waiter said the same. No apologies, no explanation, no politeness, no friendliness and really no point in us querying any of it. There were plenty of people eating in the garden and we present a pretty reasonable image. The food may be excellent....who knows and in our case, who cares. We did manage to eat elsewhere and on mentioning our encounter with apparently the owner of Ca’Murani our new friendly host laughed. She'd heard it all before.

If in Faenza eat here. The gnocchi first course was divine. Pork second course equally delicious. Local wines and house made bread round out a perfect meal. Staff great, atmosphere lovely. Don't miss it!

Not only was the food superb (fresh, authentic Italian dishes), the chef kept bringing dishes for us to taste (without our request and at no charge). We were absolutely stuffed by the time we left and every bite was scrumptious. All this AND the setting was an ancient horse stall (centuries old) converted into a hidden jewel of a restaurant. Go! You won't be disappointed.
