Feedback
Reviews praise The Oaksmere's delicious food, cocktails and pleasant setting, but note occasional slow service and inconsistent timing; great for weekend escapes.
We have dined around 15-20 times since moving to the area 2yrs ago. We have always found the restaurant “okay” but yesterday The Oaksmere was really on point! Exceptional food and the staff were brilliant, especially so the new lady manager who although we booked the wrong room for lunch managed to accommodate us in the busy main restaurant. Well done Oaksmere, keep up the good work!
Outstanding service and hospitality. Thanks to all the staff for making my Mums birthday so special.
Really pleased with the whole experience. Food and staff were perfect. Staff were kind and always helpful when we stayed at the Oaksmere. The room we stayed in was really nice, the spa bath and the shower were amazing!! We had a few issues like the Bluetooth speakers not working and the electric blinds not working. This was a little annoying as we did ask for help but nothing got resolved and we spent a lot of money on the room so would have liked everything to work. We also didnt sleep the best
After booking alternative accommodation that wasn't fit for use we managed to get a room at the Oaksmere. And what a great turn out that was. Room was amazing, the bath is great. Staff really friendly, dinner and breakfast was also great. Would and will definitely return.

FAQ
More information
Locals often mention the open galley kitchen and planted room dividers as part of The Oaksmere’s character—designed to create a sense of theatre and privacy—yet diners sometimes find the planters obscure the chefs rather than reveal them. Also, staff members (notably a bartender/server named Drew in several comments) are frequently singled out by name for exceptional service, making repeat guests look out for familiar faces.
