My wife and I have been hanging a gift certificate for the tavern for years and suddenly found a gap in our plans that fulfilled this. The Tavern has a small town. As soon as you go in, you feel like a place where you belong. You almost expect Norm to go through the door and yell out his name. The food was excellent! I had the wedge salad that was enormous and tasty, like my wife. Next I had the Pierogi and it was from this world. Beverages were served quickly and the food was excellent and good value. Would definitely recommend as a small hidden jewel in Exeter, which should be visited. The owner was gracious and great to speak and I am happy to go back there.
Great food and service. I had two people waiting for me. I ordered the house wings with hot sauce and blue cheese. Not too hot, but tastes good. You need additional napkins provided. For my main course, I had shocked with meerrot sweet potato with rice pilaf and vegetables. For dessert, I had disguised buttercream with pumpkin latte ice cream with caramel. Dinner and dessert were good. My table rolled, but my server and I fixed it with a piece of cardboard. Music wasn't loud, but it was quiet because of bad weather. I would recommend a visit. I don't know how to visit Handicap. Wifi available. Update: November 10,2018 Great food and service again! For the appetizer; Seared Yellowfin tuna, slightly rare, with hoisen sauce with grilled Avacado on Zilantro Cole slaw. I made water. lettuce; Grilled beet and cheese with Balsamico vinaigrette. dinner; Salmon with long grained wild rice with broccoli. Dessert; the greatest help of the Tiramisu I have ever served. I'm sorry, Gaucho. Very quiet location. Please visit us. Update: August 2019; I had the Artichoke Bruschetta for a starter and the Grilled Petite Filet mignon for my main course. Dessert was Swiss chocolate cake. I enjoyed my food! Great service!. Update: November, 2019; I had the feta dip as an appetizer with fillet mignon with vegetables, potatoes and grilled mushrooms. I had what they called raspberry cheesecakes. The cake was huge and tasted good! I enjoyed my meal and the service was good. Only edition, the restaurant was cold in the dining area. A few left for the cold. I recommend a visit. Update: January, 2020; Still good service and food. I had French onion soup for a starter, marinated steak with garlic potatoes and regular broccoli. Chocolate cake for dessert. The menu was smaller than the last time and the main restaurant was still cold. I ate next to the bar. Bill Cosby, ugh, has said correctly that the more people drink, the less they can hear, the louder they become. A woman has a terrible **** and a guy was loud. Update: Saturday evening, October 2021; My friend and I stopped for a quick bite. You and I had French onion
Nice little place to dive. The staff was very appealing and friendly. Very relaxing environment, not crowded when we visit, they have a nice bar with good selection of beer. My husband loves the Bladdock sandwich, but the pulled pig sandwich just okay..
My family held there last night for a quick dinner and was not disappointed. Start a few shells and buffalo wings and then the ducks. My son has the burger, definitely the right choice. The cocktails were perfect and my wife loved 'Rum Thing'. The ambience with the old mill brick interior is very beautiful. I would recommend this place if you were in the Exeter area.
It won't win any Michelin stars, but that's not why we visited. The dinner was ok and the atmosphere is very small town friendly.
