came here because of the reviews and it was not disappointed. The owner spoke perfectly English and the place had numerous locals (usually a good sign when traveling). Both the soup of the day and Tosta mista were delicious and the service was the best we had so far in Portugal. When we got the bill, I thought they forgot something, it was so cheap. I went to this restaurant with my grandfather to have lunch. Everything was delightful. The owner Mr. João is very welcoming and does his best to create a good relathionship with the customer. In addition to that, the waitress was very polite and made sure that we had everything. The food was amazing. If you go there, make sure you ask for the sweet potato pure, you wont regret it.
If you are tired of tourist restaurants in Evora and want to eat simple but good Portuguese food with the locals, I can warmly recommend this restaurant. I took the lunch special -appetiser and meal- and got excellent value for my money. Staff is helpful and friendly.
At first glance you may not realize that you're in for a treat. Typical Alentejan hospitality, they may seem reserved in the beginning but the service is impeccable, friendly, the food superb and the bill very affordable. The owner will go out of his way to accommodate foreign languages, entertain you and make sure your experience is the most ideal.
