We advise the porco Pinto really really good! They made us tried differents wines of the country and we really appreciated the knowlegde that they shared with us! Good also the price. Cheap comparing what we ate and drunk.

We decided to change our plan ... were s... read more Stopping for lunch in Évora, we were on our way to a different restaurant when we saw a small sign for Balcão do César. We decided to change our plan ... were so glad we did. We had a truly great lunch of delicious, tasty petiscos the quality of which we weren't expecting. Cesar's place has a lovely atmosphere the service was cheerful inviting. An open kitchen inspires confidence we weren't disappointed. We cannot recommend this place enough when we are next in Évora we'll be eating there again. In fact, balcão do César might be the reason we visit Évora again! Finally, today this restaurant is 51st of about 230 restaurants in Évora it's impossible to imagine many better places.

It is a treasure hunt worth pursui... read more Down a side street from the square, follow the signs from the Main Street just north of the plaza to Rua de Soeiro Mendez, 4. It is a treasure hunt worth pursuing. Four of us shared a wonderful white wine along with several tapas: huge mushrooms, gizzards in tomato sauce, quail eggs with prosciutto, scrambled eggs with pork sausage. Each was very unique and tasty. I stopped taking photos because we were so busy tasting. I loved the unique choices and the fresh ingredients. The kitchen is open so you can see what’s going on as Chef Naldo’s recipes are being prepared. Don’t miss this experience when you’re in Evora!
