View all feedback.
What Aurélie Ribeiro doesn't like about Bar de la Poste:
Taken for a relaxing coffee, cognac and cake. Second visit in two days after and before long walks. Friendly, quick service with GSOH. V delicious fig and almond tea and beautiful local eau de vie. Nice view. A good find.
We're recommended by our hotel in Porto to eat at the Chataigneraie, but when we turned up it was closed. A young girl working there told us about the Bar de la Poste and we were not disappointed Would thoroughly recommend if you are passing.
After a tour on le chemin des chataignes in the evening, we (parents 4 small children) wanted to have dinner in the Bar de la Poste. Inside and at the tables at the street, there were plenty of empty places, so we asked the...bartender whether we could sit inside as it was already a bit cool. The bartender asked whether we would eat. We said yes, and in the same moment, apparently, the restaurant owner appeared and told us that the restaurant was already fully booked. It was clear to us that he did not want us as guests, maybe because of the children, as he did not even ask whether we had booked. In any case, when we drove by 15 min later, there were still the same number of empty places. Maybe the food is good (even though I have to say that the menu displayed at the entrance looked a bit poor in choice), but took as message that families with small children are not welcome there.
Servizio cortese e attento e prezzo onesto. Peccato non ci sia in wifi
This place looked like your average pub, but you should not judge a book by its cover. They served a mean grilled pork with various delicious side dishes. But the highlight of this meal was the dessert. I had the crème brûlée à la châtaigne and it was just so good.
