I ordered the Salmon Benedict (this place offers a handful of wonderful and adventurous Benedicts) and I was very happy with my choice. The eggs were perfectly fried and the salmon was smoked very well. When I was ready to eat I was full as possible; but I just wanted more because how good it was. The food didn't take long to get out after the order, and the service staff was just the right amount of attention. The p... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about One Twelfth Street Diner:
Wasn't 112th St diner, it had changed to Ephesus Greek. We had difficulty locating the restaurant in the fact it's inside the diner, there's little signage and unless you know that, you'd never expect to find it there. So there was just two other customers there and the staff and management were miffed at the empty restaurant. The food is good and deserves better advertisement, they're a expanding place, from west Se... View all feedback.
Was impressed with the nice fresh Cesar salad I had here today. Great dressing, not too overpowering, nice and light, and served with a really nice fluffy wholemeal brown roll which was baked on the premises. My partner had the chowder, which was really creamy and rich and delicious. 2 good meals. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu, because our first time here was a really pleasant surprise, that exceeded expectation.
I ordered the Salmon Benedict (this place offers a handful of wonderful and adventurous benedicts) and I was thoroughly pleased with my choice. The eggs were poached perfectly and the Salmon was smoked very well. When I was done eating I was full as can be; however, I wanted more just because of how good it was. The food did not take long to come out after ordering and the service staff was just the right amount of attentive. The price was right for the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service. Great diner and I am happy to have eaten here.
Awesome food. Wonderful staff. Very pleasant experience overall! Smoked salmon Benedict was exquisite!
The food is good only on occasion, and the staff is friendly unless they're more interested talking to one another then serving, and the prices are rather outrageous. The cooks don't properly mask, and I can hear them coughing back there. Went in to get some food for takeout, and the entire entryway to the restaurant smelled like a bathroom. While sitting waiting for my food, I had to struggle not to gag with the pungent smell invading my nose. By the time my food was done, I had completely lost my appetite and fought back puking. I was thankful to leave and get some fresh air. It's a theme restaurant for old timers that don't mind spending lots for middle tier food, and the atmosphere of the 1960s. But is not for anyone trying to get an affordable meal. A separate time, I once tried ordering takeout food from here before, asking for their fried mushrooms. The lady on the phone laughed like it was a ridiculous request, and when the food was picked up and paid for, I discovered they had thrown regular chopped mushrooms (like a burger topping) into a box. I felt like they had played a joke on me and I spent over 20$ for that joke.
This has been a childhood memory for me for 16 years. I'm all grown up and I wanted to share the experience with my partner. Unfortunately it was not a good one. The food was expensive and not worthy of the price. There was only one person wearing their mask properly including the kitchen staff. My partners burger was so overdone the juiciest part was the mushrooms. My CFS was great but the mashed potatoes were so bland even pepper couldn't get me to eat more than a few bites, my order came with steamed cauliflower but they served me the end of it with a couple pieces attached (see picture). My partner doesn't like pickles so he gave his to me, unfortunately my pickle had chewy skin *ew*. My partners fries were underdone and the bacon on his burger was burnt. We did not say anything, we did not send it back we just ate what we could stomach, paid, and left. I have bragged about this place for 16 years and it is unfortunate that it seems it is no longer brag worthy.
