Merry Go Round - Evansville

The MGR has been a cornerstone of the Evansville restaurant scene for about 70 years. I've been eating at this place for over 40 years. They have the best food and value for your dollar. I actually worked at the Merry Go Round from my teens to my early 20's. The previous owner Virgil Syerup and current owner Eric Raeber taught me all about taking pride in my work. I owe Mr Raeber a lot. His attention to detail helped me learn what it takes to be successful in life. Thank you for many great memories. I love ya buddy!

My husband and I were recently in for dinner and had such a great meal! The parking lot was packed and the restaurant was nearly full. The staff was on top of everything! We were immediately greeted and seated. Drinks were on the table less than a minute after we ordered! My husband had the Grand Torino he loved it! I had the pork chops and they were delicious! The food came out very quickly and was piping hot! Make sure to save room for their strawberry pie! If you're looking for a great meal and fantastic service, you've found the right place!

My husband I ordered carryout for dinner tonight. He had 2 pan fried pork chops with baked potato, green beans salad. I had the 6 fried jumbo shrimp with baked potato cole slaw. Both meals were absolutely delicious cooked perfectly! We also picked up a chocolate cream layer pie, but are too full to eat it right now. The waitress that served me was super kind in carrying out all my food to the car. We just love this place!

Great place for a well rounded meal and the service is the best

It is always a special time at the Merry Go Round Restaurant. I have so many wonderful memories there and now have new ones. Loved the beautiful wooden horses and special Christmas display.
