I rate this diner 5 stars because of its wonderful local community. My son, an AT thru-hiker, lost his wallet the morning he arrived in Stratton, Maine. He had promised to meet his friends at this little diner. After hearing about his unfortunate morning, one of the women offered to buy him lunch. I give this diner a 5-star rating because of its amazing local community. My son, who is an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker, lost his wallet on the morning he arrived in Stratton, Maine. He had promised to meet his friends at this diner. After hearing about his unfortunate situation, one of the women offered to treat him to lunch. Another lady gave him $10, and shortly after, someone left with a bag of food for him to carry along with an additional $20! We don't know the names of these kind women, but we are sending thank-you cards to the diner this week! If the staff can identify them, please thank them for their kindness and generosity!
