Highly recommend the Cali Benny sandwich here, it was the best breakfast I’ve had (ever? and semi-healthy too. Our service was friendly and food came out extremely quick. The vintage decor inside was cool too. View all feedback.
What Lillie Turner doesn't like about Buddy's Diner:
I ate here again last week and it was terrible! The waitress was an idiot, who tried to carry stuff to more than one table at once, never used a tray. She carried drinks in the crook of her arm, right next to her body. How unsanitary! She tried to bring me a diet soda, didn't stay around long enough for me to correct her, and when I asked her about it when she brought it to the table, she couldn't remember if it was... I ate here again last week and it was terrible! The waitress was an idiot, who tried to carry stuff to more than one table at once, never used a tray. She carried drinks in the crook of her arm, right next to her body. How unsanitary! She tried to bring me a diet soda, didn't stay around long enough for me to correct her, and when I asked her about it when she brought it to the table, she couldn't remember if it was diet or regular. My chicken strips were overcooked and dry. For the chicken strips with a side of cottage cheese, and my mom to have fish and chips, it cost almost $30. I didn't think it was worth the money.
I had never been to Buddy's until my husband and I started dating. But this is one of his favorite restaurants. I went in, thinking it would be a greasy, hole-in-the-wall type of thing. I was pleasantly surprised to find far better. It is a basic hamburger and milkshake diner, but their hamburgers are huge! I can't even eat a whole one. My favorite thing is their chicken strips and chef salad. One of the things I check on in any restaurant, especially small ones is the quality of their salad. Buddy's had one of the freshest salads I have ever eaten. Nothing was old or stale about it, no gross brown lettuce or anything. It is still my favorite place to order a salad. And they have a great selection of milkshake flavors, guaranteed to please almost anyone. The service is always good, the wait staff enjoys their jobs, and it shows. I don't eat french fries, and they are more than happy to substitute them for something else, without charge or complaint. We now go there about once every 1-2 months.
Everything was wonderful, it’s the best food that I found since I moved to Eugene back in February. I’m super excited. I found the place!!!! Also, the first place I found here they can soft scrambled eggs ?
Pretty good food. Had the country fried staek and enjoyed every bite. Im picky about my country fried steaks too
I used to come to this establishment as a kid and it had great food and atmosphere these days it feels more like a retirement home
