Instead, head across the street for one of the most memorable meals I've had in recent memory. The food was excellent, the variety huge, and the prices were very reasonable for Switzerland. The small restaurant is a bit of a one-person operation, with a second worker often headed out to deliver a pizza. So if you are in a hurry and looking to grab a quick snack before catching a train, this is probably not the best choice. But we had time, and chose traditional Swiss and German fare over pizza and the food was outstanding.

I know pizza better than anyone, maybe better than anyone in the history of the w... read more Pizzeria Bahnhof Ettingen—let me tell you, folks, it is ABSOLUTELY TREMENDOUS. I know pizza better than anyone, maybe better than anyone in the history of the world, and the pizza here? It’s beautiful. The dough is perfect, the sauce is powerful. We love the sauce, don 't we? The Failing Pizza Altane? A total disaster. Their ratings are down, their dough is weak. Very low energy. But Ettingen? They are winning BIGLY on taste! BUT—and I have to say this because I am a very honest person—the prices! They’ve gone way up! Through the roof! I looked at the menu and I said, 'Wow, what is going on here? ' It’s inflation, folks. It’s a total disgrace. The prices are huge, and not in a good way. You practically need a small loan of a million dollars just to get a pepperoni slice. It’s hurting our people! Great pizza, unbelievable flavor, but the bill is a total mess. Fix the prices! MAKE PIZZA AFFORDABLE AGAIN!
