I would be more premised on the choice of a restaurant next time by consulting the opinions of previous customers because frankly very expensive, even the child menu is out of price for a dish and an ice ball. A brewery I don't recommend. View all feedback.
Picard !!!!! all teller are frozen. also the pizza they mention (feux de bois) is a sweat not come unless there is nothing to eat
We arrived late in Etretat and after checking in our B&B we headed into the center of town to find some place for dinner. Since it was nearing 9PM, most places were closing up. Desperate after a while of rejections, we settled for L'escale, thinking...it would be interesting to try French pizza. Both service and food were marginal at best the bill for what turned out to be 3 bar pies and a bottle of water came to over $60 American. Clearly this is a dining choice for the desperate tourist.
This restaurant is a classic tourist trap and you can easily make it from the outside. I would have never entered it but since I was running a little behind and before could have warned my friends, they were already seated and ordering. I had...no choice left, so I decided to order chicken and cola which looked like, it had the least probability of going wrong. I also specifically requested the waiter that all of us would be paying separately and he needs to arrange it. I already knew that the damage was done and was trying to apply as much damage control as possible. We ended up ordering 1 cola, 2 juices, 1 portion chicken and 2 portions of Normandy potatoes. The food arrived rather quickly: the chicken was basically plastic and the potatoes were smelling as if they were trashed last night but picked up and served again today. The grand bill arrived to be 107 euros and I had to remind the waiter that we did not order the 3 glasses of wine(and what not) which he had added to the bill and as per the agreement we would be paying separately. After much hassel we paid the actual due for all the food, most of which was not eaten, about 60 euros i.e 20 euros p.p. If you somehow end up here with your dog, then I humbly request you to do favor: Let the dog alone eat here and find something else for yourself.
We had a small dog with us and they allowed us to eat inside since it was already a bit cold. My son ordered entrecote steak, i opted for the mussels and my husband ordered patat normande. The fries were thick just the way i...like it. The food was not so bad. My son enjoyed his steak. The drinks were very expensive..but i noticed its everywhere expensive. My husband ordered coffee with milk, a big one..which is not really big..it costs 9euro. They dont even gave any sweets just like we are used to have in belgium. The mussels were not bad at all but have different taste as belgium mussels. For a very simple meal plus 2x cola and soda water, 1 coffee and 1 dame blanche afterwards..it costs us 90euro. Not bad but the drinks costs too much.
Much too long service, pizzas are dripping, other dishes are also dripping. !!!
