In today's world of identity theft and the sale of personal information, I worry about what could happen with my data once it’s taken. They didn’t provide any guarantee or disclaimer to reassure me that my information wouldn’t be misused. All the information on your driver's license is embedded in that barcode, and I don't think it's right that I have to give it up just to buy a beer. If they can't scan your license, they won't sell to you. I've been stopping there for gas and other essentials for ten years, but now I’ll be driving a little farther to shop somewhere that isn’t collecting personal data.
