Reviews - Apache Burger

#4 - Fast Food - Etobicoke, American, Canadian

Reviews summary

Located near Kipling subway station in Toronto, Apache Burger has a long history but recent reviews show a decline in quality. While vegetarian options are available and the fries are good, the cash-only policy and inconsistent food leave much to be desired. Some loyal customers still enjoy the classic burgers and atmosphere, but others find the experience overpriced and disappointing. Despite its fame, Apache Burger may need to step up its game to compete with newer burger joints in the area. However, the late-night hours and nostalgic charm may still make it a worthwhile stop for some.

Was Alan D at Apache Burger a mag?

I don't see many places making grilled burgers these days, but Apache's are really, really good. Great burger at a solid price, great service, and the fries were great! I will definitely be back.I also love the old school ambiance. View all feedback.

What DJ dislikes about Apache Burger:

Place is alright… definitely overrated. Burger is subpar, fries are good at least. Staff can be kind of rude though. Been here 3 times, and they’ve given me attitude on all 3 occasions. I’m a paying customer, to your over priced burgers… I’ve been nice to them every time, but they are definitely edgy; I just bite my tongue. Place also needs a good cleaning, kind of dirty. I've been coming here for 20 years, and my parents and grandparents have been coming for over 30! It's a fantastic burger joint with amazing staff. I'm so glad they're still around!

My favorite burger spot since the 80s! I still find myself glancing around in hopes of seeing someone from my alma mater. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I first went to Apache 's when I was 18 years old living in Etobicoke, I am now 64 and I make it a point to go once a year even though I live 50 kms north of Toronto. At any given opportunity I take my kids there who are 33, 30 and 27 there to enjoy the best burgers in Ontario. The only noticeable change is the fact that they changed the brand of dill pickles. Originally they were 'Strubs ' but now have changed to an icicle dill... but what hasn 't changed is the quality of the burger and the fast friendly service ... long live Apache 's!

This restaurant is still the best place for a delicious burger and hand-cut fries. I have been coming here since 1970, shortly after they first opened. It was a weekly tradition during my high school days. Although the wooden seats are no longer there, the quality of the food remains excellent. The walls are adorned with photos of celebrities who clearly agree with me.

I grew up not realizing how lucky I was till I moved 3hrs away, now it's my destination whenever I'm in the city. Best burger I've ever had, and along with the onion rings which I use to compare every other onion ring I ever eat, apache burger is the best burger place I've ever been too!

Apache Burgers is absolutely amazing! It is hands down one of the best burgers I have ever had. Every time I am in Toronto, it is the first place I stop at.

This Toronto restaurant has the best burgers! The homemade onion rings are classic and delicious. It's definitely worth a visit! The man behind the counter puts on a great show while assembling your burger, making sure each one is topped perfectly to your specifications. It's truly amazing.

Don’t get their fries. They were extremely dry, over fried and every bite had oil spewing out of it. Smell was rancid as well.Burgers (beef and chicken) as well as chicken strips were really good.If you decide to come here, don’t get the fries under any circumstances.

Burger was pretty good, fries not so much. I’d still go back. Oh, the A/C was blowing way too cold, had to hold down my napkins so they wouldn’t blow away.

One of the BEST burgers. It 's a classic burger stop, no fancy menu, straight to the point and they do it well since 1969 that 's how you know it 's good).Hamburgers cheese burgers are seasoned great and cooked in front of you with care.Fresh toppings to choose from straight forward condiments.Hot dogs my kids devoured with no words, "silence is golden. "Onion rings are THE BEST the size of them with the crunch brings such joy.Fresh cut fries.Fountain pop.The Apache Burger building is iconic for the neighbourhood. It offers a 1960 classic charm with mosaics of Marilyn Monroe on the walls great instragran moment). There 's a warm welcome always by staff with the original owners still holding down the front cash you 'll spot her son on grill or right next to her.Food is fresh and done in front of you so you see it ALL.To the lady who owns it.. THANK YOU for never selling out to developers. You bring so much to the neighbourhood and you see it in Apache Burger with every guest you serve and continue to serve for generations .It 's good so good it keeps you coming back for years, 34 years for me to be exact I don 't live close either )How do you know food is good?Look around when you get there. The place has this revolving door of guests. The community knows it 's good food and you should too. This is the type of business you want to support!

I know this place has been around since my parents were born. Located conveniently near Kipling subway station , this place is open late and a group of us ended up here after a late night filled with drinks , as nothing else in the area was open. To start off the place has made a reputation over the past decade but does not live up to its reputation. I read many other reviews , including on yelp to reaffirm myself i am not the only one who is disappointed, seems like over the years the quality has gone down and they survive thanks to the long running famous name and questionable hype. Bunch of us ordered burgers, fires and i also tried the poutine. The burger was stale and bland, variety of toppings is standard nothing special, and the poutine was sort of gross. I am sorry. The service was okay, many people working behind the counter and you can see the food being prepared. It is not as cheap as you may think and not worth the money. It is also cash only and they have an ATM on premises. If they were once very popular it is understandable, but things have changed and the competition is tough with all the new generation burger joints that have much higher standards and better unfrozen burgers and toppings. I highly highly recommend taking your money and driving 10 min down to Lakeshore and going to Woodys Burger where for 10$ you get freshly cooked beef and unfrozen cut fries and high quality of toppings . Sorry Apache. Step up the game ,it is time. On the positive note ...there is free parking !

Simple. They are the best. Burgers are ok. I expected better since so many people rave about them. Rings are expensive but I'll definitely go back for them: about $4.50 for 8. Cash only.
