This has to be the best option in Estremoz. A beer, a fish soup, and a whopper size bifana ( pork sirloin sandwich with garlic sauce), for 4.40 euros!!!And all this enjoying the late afternoon sunshine in the outdoor tables. They also have other dishes typical from the area. I saw snails. And I was the only foreigner there. But rest assured, it is a wonderful way and cheap too, to spend an evening. View all feedback.

sun bathed patio was the perfect late afternoon snack stop - this seemed to be one of the few places with people sitting outside good humour all around as we tested our Portugese - very quickly, some tall beers with a plate of snails and basket of bread appearedgreat place to people watch - fun! This was the best meal we had while we were in Estremoz. Great place with good food, great service and a good price. If you are in town and looking for a meal go here. Highly recommended.
This place gets full very quickly with locals coming to eat. The lively staff are fluent in English and are happy to advise you. Their signature dish is the biffana, but they do so much more. But be careful, you get very large portions so might want to share a main course with a mixed salad. Very good cheap local wine. Outdoor seating. Ask to owner for "mother-in-law soup. It is a running joke with him.
Just back from Christmas and New Year in lovely Estremoz. Spent many a happy afternoon sitting outside Casa das Bifanas. It's location is ideal, on the edge of the square catching the sun all afternoon and a great place to watch the world go by and enjoy the town's relaxed atmosphere. The food's also great. Brilliant bifanas (slices of pork cooked in garlic and served in local bread delicious) but also daily specials. If you're there on a weekend try the pigs cheeks. These are chunks of the most tender meat cooked in red wine and I couldn't get enough of them! But best of all is Amilcar and his family who run the place. Really genuine and friendly people. Amilcar is always happy to chat and always had a smile on his face. For a town with loads of good bars and cafes it no surprise that Amilcar runs the most popular place. Everyone is chatting and having a good time. It's full of great characters. If you're in Estremoz, check it out! Great location, great food, friendly and lovely atmosphere. Can't ask for more!
After looking for a good place to eat something, the place was the best option. My wife and my friends were happy about the choice too
Loved this place. We ordered a typical bifana, which didn't disappoint on flavour and an asparagus omelette which was delicious and very generous. We also tried soup of the day which was a tasty coriander soup. The service was friendly and quick. We sat at the outside tables which made it a great place for us and our dog!
