Was Vivien Goyette at Bistro A Champlain a mag?
In short, this restaurant was excellent. We were trying to make sense of the meal we had compared to other reviews on Google. Our experience was exceptional, even after dining at many upscale restaurants. We chose the 5-course menu with wine pairings. The scallop dish and all mushroom dishes were outstanding. The duck, especially the confit, was perfectly cooked, and the dessert was well-balanced. The white fish was... View all feedback.

What Jessica Chbat dislikes about Bistro A Champlain:
The food was horrible. We had a fixed 6 course meal, with the first dish that was very tasty... But it was pretty much downhill from there. It's not only that it wasn't great for the price we payed, the food was simply inedible. We couldn't finish any of small portioned dishes and opted for room service after this horrific meal. What a bad, bad experience. Please, do not waste your money here McDonald's would be a be... View all feedback.

Big and colorful choices for the full brunch! Offering interesting warm dishes such as fish and chips and bavette. Also featuring different types of olive oils and fun vinegar for your salad and breads. There is a station of carving for lamb, an omelet and crepe station, good variety of charcuterie and superb pastries and desserts! Amazing view on the lake Dupuis as well!

In a word, Excellent. I struggle to reconcile the meal we had with the rest of the reviews on Google. Our experience was exemplary, and this is after having been to many classically ranked restaurants. We had the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. The scallop dish, and all mushroom dishes were absurdly good. The duck was done to perfection (particularly the confit), and the dessert was well balanced. The whitefish was good, but could have been more seasoned. It was an excellent sh

Great food and excellent service with a great wine selection. More on the expensive side but worth it.

Excellent 6 course meal. No pressure to order wine and extremely helpful and understanding in changing parts of the menu to suit our low carb restricted diet. We highly recommend.

Perched on Lake Dupuis, this upscale restaurant alternates between refined tasting-menu highs and inconsistent plates that have left some diners disappointed. Standout items include scallops, mushroom courses and a perfectly executed duck confit; whitefish can be underseasoned. Brunch is abundant—carving, omelet and crepe stations, charcuterie and superb pastries—while wine pairings are available without pressure. Staff are accommodating to dietary restrictions. Prices are premium and portioning can be small; expect exceptional moments but variable consistency.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of choices for a hearty brunch, including options like fish and chips and bavette. They also provide different types of olive oil and fun vinegar for their salads and bread. Guests can enjoy a carving station for lamb, as well as omelets and crepes made to order. The selection of loaded baked goods and desserts is both delicious and visually appealing.
