We have been to Chiringuito Africa several times each summer for the past 10-ish years and have always been happy due to the good food, reasonable prices, and the nice beach. For the low price and the fact that it is a chiringuito and not a 5-star restaurant we obviously have a reasonable level of expectation, but this summer (2022) the service on the beach was just not good. The man in charge of the sunbeds got most of our drink orders wrong and was generally unhelpful and we did not feel welcome. The food is still good though and the two girls who worked in the restaurant this summer were nice and friendly.

Very average food, quite good service, but overpriced. Pizza (margarita) was OK. Salad served with meals was very good. Grilled sardines were OK but quite small and very salty. Spaghetti bolognese was reasonably tasty but the portion was tiny it would barely have been acceptable as a starter or a children's portion. Solomillo pork with chips was reasonable, but a bit dry. Cost for 5 meals (one being a child) was €109 including drinks, which was at least 20% higher than comparable meals in the area during the previous week. If you really want to be in this particular beach location, you may be content with it, but there are innumerable better restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

Visited for dinner with my wife and daughter. Service was terrible. 5 10 minute between each course arriving. Ordered turbot at 21 euros. When arrived it was only half of a very small fish. Couldn’t tell whether it was not fresh or just overcooked but was very dry. Nice location. If you do eat here, I would say order something simple and make sure you are not in a hurry!
