I decided to try the brittle wine, which was quite good despite some not-so-great chunks of fatty bits. It was $7.50 and made fresh to order. They also had a selection of sushi, other rolls, cakes, and coffee.

The staff at the counter always go above and beyond to assist us, treating my children to extra dim sims and hot chocolates, while also engaging in friendly conversations. This is truly the most welcoming service in Essendon. Other sushi places along our route simply don't compare, and their sushi quality falls short. The sushi at Ookii Sushi is as authentic as anything you would find in Japan (as evidenced by several artworks), so I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a fantastic place for a quick meal, and we often use Menulog for fast pickup. Five stars!

They use roast pork instead of pork belly, and the crackling is more like dust with no crunch at all. The pickled carrot was the standout feature of the roll. As for the sushi, it was just okay.

The staff at the counter always go above and beyond to assist us, treat my kids with extra dim sims and hot chocolates, and engage in friendly conversations. It's definitely the friendliest service you'll find in Essendon. Compared to other sushi places in the area, they simply don't measure up, and their offerings are far inferior. The sushi at Ookii Sushi rivals anything I've had in Japan (having visited several times, I can say this with confidence), so I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a fantastic place for a quick lunch, and you can also conveniently place orders through Menulog for fast pick-up, which we do frequently. I give it five stars—an EXCELLENT dining experience!
