While the bee... read more The botanical gardens at Gruga Park are amazing! However, after a long walk on a hot sunny day, one must take care of another primary need...beer. While the beer was perfect as was the location, the service was simply average. The place was not that crowded and I had to raise my hand several times to pay my bill. Still, we are in this together so I gave the waited a good tip. Nonetheless, the experience was simply average.

You will not see any of the staff smile.....not one kind gesture, not a single friendly smile......! We went for lunch. 3 kids and my self. We had 3 pasta Bolognese and 1 schnitzel. It took a while before the dishes arrived.The Pasta sauce was homemade, and very rustic. So rustic, that you would find Rosmarin branches in the sauce.....slightly to the salty side. The portion is not very big.....and you will find pear as plate decoration...... why?? Our oldest kids, were not all full when they left the table. The Schnitzel was hot and crispy....not the best ever tasted, not the worst. The fries were ok, and the salad were tossed in a lot of dressing.....to the sweet side. It is like the kitchen wants to much in the same time. To many styles combined in the same menu card. Well you can only pay with bargeld/cash or EC card. No Visa card or other credit cards. If we could have payed with kreditcard, we would have tryed the desserts. So, I don´t know why the staff is so unfriendly......you don´t feel directly unwelcome, but a smile would make you feel just a little bit more welcome. The total was 47 EUR for 4 main dishes and 4 sodas.

Don't expect any interesting interior design. But look forward to experiencing attentive and friendly waiters. The service is fast and on a sunny summer day it is nice to sit under one of the huge parasols which they have on the outdoor terrace. The food they offer has a Mediterranean touch: pizzas, noodle dishes and quite a lot of different salads are on the menu.The also have meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Just check their online menu.
