B... read more Acquario has been in the city centre of Essen-Steele for over years. It gets really busy at the weekends and service can, because of this, be a little slower. BUT please don't let that put you off imagine yourself in a mediterranean setting,...let life takes its natural course, enjoy the really great food and wine, take it slow with friends and family and spend a few delightful hours with the Italians. I had pork medallions with the then in season German white asparagus with sauce hollandaise and beautifully cooked potatoes. Our friends had anything from the carpaccio of beef to fish and pasta. The meal was fantastic for all of us as was the wine. We had a wonderful evening. For years I have been going on and off to Acquario and have never been disappointed. And I will be going again.

I went there for dinner after a day of seminars and received a very warm welcome. The waiter was extremely attentive and gave me a fantastic recommendation: tagliatelle with salmon – absolutely perfect. For a starter, I had lumache inferno, which was also incredibly flavorful and tasted just right. Both dishes were excellent, the atmosphere was pleasant – I would definitely come back.
