After two weeks in the charente without French restaurant (all was closed for the season) we came over this restaurant while we visited the pretty village of Es... read more After two weeks in the charente without French restaurant (all was closed for the season) we came over this restaurant while we visited the pretty village of Esse. Only from looking at the building was clear that this was a successful... consciousness and we booked this day in the row. Our broken French had no problem because the staff quickly ensured that we had an English menu and English speakers served us while we were able to practice the language. The food was exceptional and cheap. We had Steak and Dessert. It was the best meal we ever had in France. Unfortunately we came to the end of our holiday or we would eat there regularly. They even open on a Sunday! Tres bee to all. Very recommended.

Meal was disappointing, most of us had the menu of the day, cottage pie, which was inconspicuous and served with lots of salad. The best course was rice pudding.
