It is an old 12th-century caravan hotel that was later converted into a winery and meeting point for oriental artists. After the 1911 earthquake, it was damaged and lost its beautiful glass dome. They dismantled it piece by piece to rebuild it, and now Triskala is a charming bar that serves French crepes (made from black wheat flour for 2 or 3 euros each), oriental salads with argan oil for three euros, and pasta dishes, lasagna, or fried rice for four euros. Drinks cost 1.50-2 euros with a wide selection of vegetable juices (tomato garlic onion, zucchini, tomato pepper, cucumber mint) and fruit. It is a very relaxed and cool place in any season of the year.
