We... read more Have been to Espolla several times over the years but this is my first time eating here. We had booked a table for 5 and arrived at Cafe La Fraternal at 1pm. We hadn't taken into account the celebration of Jacques de Compostelle. It was today, the 25th of July. The cafe contains a large room and next to this meeting house is a ball dance hall. There were laid out on long tables and in the room next to it there were preparations for dancing. First la sardanne then winervals. For today's dinner, we chose a starter with charcuterie, salad and calamari. As a main course: Pork jowls with French fries. Finally dessert. An ice cream, cream Catalan and miel in matto. A very pleasant and surprising experience, we could join in the dancing and then enjoy a tasty meal. Service. Thoroughly Spanish, friendly and welcoming. Can be recommended as a quirky place to eat if you come to Espolla.
