I came here for lunch, not expecting much. But the food did not disappoint! Service was also up to par. However, the dessert was amazing! And so they have been ever since! I keep going to try them all out, there's so much variety. My favourite is the pudim. You must try Floro for the desserts! View all feedback.
What Vera O doesn't like about Floro:
The food was alright, even though the chicken skewer was raw. When we mentioned it the waiter didn't say anything, only shrug his shoulders. The service was terrible, slow and incompetent. Only a few options available and no help choosing, he would turn his back while you were still talking. Put me off trying the famous desserts. The price was reasonable. Not going back though. Of all the times we have visited Espinho this was the first time we have found this restaurant. What have we missed! It is only 5 minutes up the hill from the station on a corner. They speak virtually no English, the waiter speaks some French so it is a gamble . Pork is obvious, Espetadinhas de Peru is chicken breast wrapped in bacon, cooked on a skewer. Almost all of the diners are local or Portuguese visitors see other reviews . The food is superb and all home cooked. I wish we knew what some of the other dishes were they looked very tempting. Next time there will be one we will probably play safe on one main and stick in a pin for the other if it 's carne it should be OK. There is some atmosphere, it 's nicely decorated if a little warm , the staff are friendly and efficient and you are not hurried. Soup, 2 mains, house wine very quaffable ,coffee and a brandy will set you back less than 20 Euros! Everyone raves about the home made deserts, we hadn 't room for one....next time no soup but yes to a desert. If you like to eat with the locals and are happy to try the unknown unless you speak Portuguese this restaurant is a must. I think they are open most of the day so perhaps a coffee and desert for lunch? . This is certainly a restaurant from heaven . Try it!!
This is a traditional home made meal restaurant, with mainly Portuguese cuisine. Of course, do not expect too much glamour , or fancy dishes, or fancy service. It is a family 's kind of restaurant. The food is regular, not too spectacular, but tasteful, and mainly home made kind. I live nearby and sometimes find one of the ladies on the local supermarket buying ingredients that is definitely a plus. Now, lets talk about deserts... : I agree with other reviewers that say it is the best part of the restaurant. Lets put it this way: ok, food is regular (from earth , deserts are from heaven! And most of them are made by one of the owners herself she loves to try new things and we love that she does. : You will find some traditional Portuguese deserts, but also some new inventions , mixtures, remixes , and all of them wonderful! The prices are very suitable for what you eat. Let 's say, the main course, house wine, and one of those heavenly deserts will be around 10 to 12 € depending on the chosen food, of course. Maybe it 's worth mention that we go there bout twice a month...
