El Refugio Mexican Food - Escondido

I decided to try this place after seeing a picture of a large platter of 50 tacos! I'm always looking for the best TJ style tacos out there and this place might just be my favorite. The service was great, the restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated, and of course all the food I tried was great from the tacos to the chips. The tacos run at about $1.50 each or you can order the large platter of 30 tacos for $50. I will definitely be coming back

This restaurant is a fantastic spot for food, drinks, and a great time. The tacos are authentic Mexican and taste amazing, and there’s a wonderful variety of dishes on the menu. In addition to the tacos, I recommend trying the 'Camarones Costa Azul.' On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, they have karaoke nights that are a lot of fun whether you go alone or with friends. During the day, the atmosphere is very family-friendly. The prices are quite reasonable, and the bathrooms are clean and spacious. I highly recommend it, even for first-time visitors. They close at 2 AM.

The food here is fantastic! I usually come to enjoy some daytime drinks, play music on the jukebox, and indulge in their ceviche de camarón. It's definitely a cozy little spot, ideal for those who prefer to avoid large crowds. The service is excellent as well. I recently found this place, and so far, I have no complaints. It's also clean, including the bathrooms, which is a nice bonus.
